A Culinary Spectacle in 3D
For three years running, Fire + Water Restaurant at Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour has been home to Le Petit Chef — the immersive dining experience that has captivated audiences across 128 locations worldwide and shows no signs of losing its magic.
Le Petit Chef & Family is a four-course culinary spectacular that delights from the first projection to the final course, proving that some traditions only get better with time.
At the heart of it all is the world’s smallest chef: a mere 6 centimetres tall, born according to legend in Marseille, France in April 2015, and showing absolutely no signs of slowing down. Through the art of 3D Projection Mapping — a technology developed by the creative minds at Skullmapping — Le Petit Chef is brought to vivid, animated life directly on your dinner plate. The effect reads like a hologram, but it is something far more precise: bespoke visual storytelling using optical techniques and carefully calculated perspective to produce a genuinely immersive illusion.
This year’s chapter follows Le Petit Chef and his family through four courses, each one introduced by a captivating projection set within a different season. The visuals, the themed music, and the props all work in concert — and when the plates arrive, the show graciously steps aside so the food can speak for itself. High-quality dishes, crafted with care, are paired with local BC wines, rounding out every act of this culinary theatre. Served one course at a time and ready for
the grid, each plate is as camera-worthy as it is delicious — no wonder Le Petit Chef has gone viral more than once.
For families, date nights, anniversaries, and birthdays, this is the kind of evening that becomes a story told for years. Children are enchanted, adults are genuinely surprised, and the whole experience unfolds over two and a half to three hours — just the right length to feel truly special. Groups of up to 16 guests can be accommodated together, making it an inspired choice for any celebration that calls for something well beyond the ordinary. Note that the experience is not recommended for children under six.
Victoria’s dining scene has seen a lot, but Le Petit Chef brings something that never gets old: the marriage of fine gastronomy and cinematic storytelling, refreshed each year and served one extraordinary course at a time. Arrive thirty minutes before the show begins, bring your curiosity, and prepare to see your dinner table in an entirely new light.
