Behind every strong real estate practice is a city someone genuinely loves, and for Ashley Sutton and Brynn Hoffman, that city is Port Moody. Operating as part of Angell Hasman & Associates Realty, Canada’s most successful independent luxury real estate brokerage, this duo has built something that goes well beyond a client roster — a presence woven into the daily life of the community itself.

Ashley came to real estate almost inevitably. Her father’s five-decade career in the industry offered both inspiration and a blueprint, and she arrived with something extra: a diploma in journalism and years writing for a local newspaper. That background sharpened the communication skills that now define her practice at every stage of a transaction. “What still excites me is how human the work is,” she says. “No two days are ever the same, and behind every transaction is a real story, a transition, a moment that matters to someone. I love the strategy, the negotiation, and the marketing, but what keeps me engaged is the responsibility of guiding people through big decisions with clarity and confidence.”

A decade-plus in the field, and a key role in growing their team to eleven agents, reflects what happens when expertise compounds with genuine commitment.

Brynn, born and raised in Port Moody, brings the perspective of someone who has watched this city evolve and loves it all the same. “Growing up here gives me a different perspective,” she says. “I do not just know the streets or the schools. I understand how it feels to live here, to grow up here, and to build a life here. That allows me to guide clients in a more thoughtful way, because I am not just matching them with a property. I am helping them find the right fit within a community I genuinely care about.”

What distinguishes Ashley and Brynn is not simply their track record, though that speaks for itself. It is the way they move through their work — with the energy of people who are paying attention, always learning, and reaching for every available tool without ever losing the human element. Their marketing approach reflects this exactly: bespoke property events, cinematic 4K videography, custom floor plans, and brochures that tell a home’s story rather than simply listing its features.

When the conversation turns to community, their commitment becomes even clearer. SHARE Society, BC Children’s Hospital, the Cause We Care Foundation, and Christmas Hampers for local families in need — these are not footnotes on a website. For Ashley, the motivation is personal. “Port Moody has held onto a sense of character and community that feels rare,” she says. “Being part of that — not just selling homes but contributing to how people experience living here — is something I do not take lightly.”

Brynn echoes that sentiment and pushes it further. “For me, it is about being part of something bigger than the work itself. This community has given so much to me, and it feels natural to give that back in meaningful ways.” As for what she hopes people feel when they encounter her and Ashley out in the neighbourhood: “I hope people feel that we are approachable, genuine, and invested — not just in the market but in the people who make this place what it is.”

Whether you are purchasing your first home near the trails of Rocky Point Park, upsizing in one of the area’s master-planned communities, or making a move that has been years in the making, Ashley and Brynn bring something rare to the table: the experience to guide you well, and the care to make it matter.
